Promo Advert
This promo is very simple yet it does what it is meant to do. It shows you what stars you can see at the O2 arena, it promotes them going to walk on stage. It is a long build up between their dressing rooms and the stage but this is used to build up tenstion something that I think works realy well in an advert.
This is how our promo should be, simple and not rushed. If we keep it simple and work on that then we can start to make it look nicer.

Rough Cut Feedback
-Live footage of The Fiver
-What the requirements are for getting in
-What you get if your band is accepted
-How to apply
-It must look contemporary
-Appealing to the 14 – 17 age group
-Supply all the relevant information
-Good use of the bands, drops me straight into the evening
-Does not show entry requirements
-Mentions financial incentives but not the opportunities of working on large stage with sound and techs
- would be great to include this in the final cut
-Left me slightly confused
-Looks modern
-Great editing and speed
-Yes but does not include too much of the younger band(s)
-Unsure the ticker tape is clear enough, moves too quickly, unclear
Feedback from class mates
-text effect great Idea but think about using a diffrent font maybe
-Maybe more footage of what the bands throught of there experience
-Overall quite good and effective but needs a 'WOW' factor

What has my job been so far in the group?
Once we were put into our promo groups, my role has been helping out with editing alongside Sam & Loz giving ideas on what would look good etc. I also was put in charge of creating the titles on After Effects, I created a nice simple ripply effect that looked really nice.
First version of the promo video
This is the rough version of the promo vidoe edited by Me, Loz & Sam. The titles were created by me in aftereffects.
Although we were on a very small time constraint I think this turned out pretty well. It gets across the main points we are trying to feed into our audience, that this is a great place to do a gig wether you are starting up or are famous. It straight away starts with a live performance very punchy and quick which is good for keeping the interest of our viewers. We used the song 'Till Death Let Us Dance' by Operation FM, we didn't have the full version of the song from the live footage so we then got the recored version of the song and layered it in and blended it in with out footage so it fitted.

Why I chose the Junction
They also offered me the best pitch for a project. If I work in partnership with the Junction then I will get the ability to make a video. I am much more enthusiastic about video making than the other projects that I could possibly get involved with such as working for Shakin' Moo's where they wanted me to make fliers for their business. I feel that I will get a lot more out of this project if I am able to make a video and this is what collaboration with the Junction will mean.

Another Opportunity
Who we have chosen
Sunday, 7 February 2010
What I could do for the Junction
What I could do for the corn exchange
Shakin' Moo's
The Arts Picture House
We have already worked with the picture house on our work experiance, this didn't turn out so well. I think that it would be worth giving these guys another go at it. Being a picture house for low budget cinema and up and coming directors, it would be a great opportunity to great a promo video for them
Soul Tree
The Fez
The Corn Exchange
The Junction
Organisations I could work with.

Notes taken from meeting with Simon Bates 2
Core product.
Interviews with staff, images or videos of staff and students working together. The basic expectation you want from a product.
The wow factor is untangable it's what is sort of like a bonus or a must for the core product. If when buying a hat, you but it so it keeps you warm that is your core epectation the core prodeuct. If it looks good then that is the wow factor

Notes taken from meeting with Simon Bates
Skillset promo to be five to ten minutes long. The junction promo to the about 3 and a half minutes long to try and keep it interesting. Quality footage of the fiver event, not much bother with the fact if we voice over the live footage. Bands get scouted or get recomended.
Use Gary's contact details maybe so bands can give Gary their details. We go to bournemouth on the 22nd of febuary. Have hopefuly both videos donw by end of febuary.
